Brendyn, fifth-grader at Boiling Springs Intermediate School, saved the life of his mother on the afternoon of May 6 While driving home from school Brendyn, a chocolate candy lodged in the throat by Shantel. Brendyn quickly and calmly used the Heimlich maneuver to clear the airways of his mother - a skill he learned in health class at school two days earlier.
