I'm patching a hole in my bycicle innertube using Something called "pliobond" (I'm pretty sure that is the same as rubber cement) and rubber from a diffrent innertube. Is that okay? or is it the wrong glue and the rubber is too thick?

Pliobond Adhesive for Soft Tops?
I just finished the construction / installation of a superior proposal (thanks for the idea and ylojelo JaySpencer66), and I would like to add velcro-type "connection" to the inside of my upper right side of the soft arc which brings up. I read on a bundle of accessories that son keep the hood from flapping in the wind so bad, but I wanted to try to strap the two parts together. Has anyone ever used Pliobond? According to directions, it would be good for something like that, but I thought to get advice before you try.
